Just after the introduction of the day of the Lord's wrath in
Revelations 6: 17, John breaks away from the story line to explain some
few events that took place before the opening of the seventh seal, which
announces Judgment Day proper. The seven trumpet sounds representing
the seven final wrath of God Just as in Egypt during the ten plagues, as
God protected the Israelites in Egypt, He will also be able to protect
these saints during the seven trumpet sound. Ephesians 1: 13-14; 30,
throws more light to this fact. "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye
heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also
after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased"..."And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption."
The 144,000 of Revelation 7
are again mentioned in Revelation 14, where it becomes clear that these
spiritual first fruits are those who repented and were converted before
the Day of the Lord. They were redeemed without faults (Revelation
14:1-5). As for the innumerable multitude, one angel revealed to John
that they are the survivors of the great tribulation, and have washed
their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb, and will
continue to live and be sheltered by God in the sky after the great
tribulation (Revelation 7:14-17).
The Day of the Lord begins with
the Seven Trumpet Plagues. The first four of these plagues involve
certain destruction to the earth, trees and vegetation, seas and rivers.
Then the final three plagues usher war back onto the scene. This will
constitute one final world war. The seventh trumpet is multi-faceted. It
consists of the seven last plagues (also called the Seven Vials of
Wrath).
This final all-out war now begins. The Fifth Trumpet
Plague (also called the First Woe) lasts for a period of five months and
involves warfare between the beast power of Europe and the hordes of
the East. Sixth Trumpet Plague, which is the Second Woe. This describes
the counter-attack of the hordes of the East against the beast power of
Europe. Then the Seventh Trumpet Plague, which is the Third Woe,
consists of the seven last plagues (also called vials of wrath). The
sixth of these final seven plagues sets the stage for a final battle to
resist the Return of Jesus Christ.
Notice the means by which
these forces are mobilized, in Revelation 16: 12-14: "And the sixth
angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water
thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be
prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the
mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the
mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working
miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole
world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty."
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36).
Just before Judgment Day, most of the world will be under the sway of a
corrupt, counterfeit, idolatrous, religious, political and Hegelian
system; one that has totally neglected and rejected the true teachings
of Christ, and has created an inner dialectic of the teachings of the
Bible. Most of the world's churches and religious organizations of today
have departed from preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, to some
self-willed, emotional, doctrines like the doctrines of holiness,
prosperity, long life, Sabbath day, or goodwill. These are all various
good news, but the good news (gospel) of the kingdom of God is the great
commission and the only true gospel.
In the end, the very few Christians who are still preaching the gospel
of the kingdom of God and keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ will
be persecuted globally. The battle of Armageddon is when God will
destroy the kingdom of Satan and his allies of demons and wicked
spirits. Before this Day, massive armies from four of the world's most
powerful nations at the time, will engage in military action over the
land of Israel that will take hundreds of millions of lives (Daniel 7:
6). These four powerful nations will probably be made up of:
1. The English speaking Nations -USA and Great Britain;
2. Arab Nations -Iran, Egypt and allies;
3. European Nations -Germany, Italy, Russia and France and allies;
4. Asian Nations -North Korea and China and allies.
The day of the Lord's judgment is a time of punishment on the wicked,
and recompense on the saints. In Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:4-6, the
day of the Lord's wrath represents a year of punishment on the nations.
Indeed, Isaiah 34;8 also calls the day of the Lord's wrath a year long
period. If that principle is applied here, God's punishment on this evil
kingdom of Satan and the beast will overlap the three and a half year
period of the reign of the Antichrist. Prior to the Lord's Judgment, on
the nations, there will be great signs in heaven, indicating the
fulfillment of all prophecy. (Matthew 24: 29-34).
The seven trumpet plagues representing the seven final wrath of God will
by no means affect the saints who are sealed: the 144,000 in Revelation
7:3, and the great innumerable multitude (Revelation 7: 9-10). Just as
in Egypt during the ten plagues, as God protected the Israelites in
Egypt, He will also be able to protect these saints during the seven
trumpet sound. Ephesians 1: 13-14; 30, throws more light to this fact.
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were
sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased"..."And grieve not the
holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
The 144,000 of Revelation 7 are again mentioned in Revelation 14, where
it becomes clear that these spiritual first fruits are those who
repented and were converted before the Day of the Lord. They were
redeemed without faults (Revelation 14:1-5). As for the innumerable
multitude, one angel revealed to John that they are the survivors of the
great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in
the blood of the Lamb, and will continue to live and be sheltered by God
in the sky after the great tribulation (Revelation 7:14-17).
Because of the magnitude of the wrath that precedes the Lord's Judgment
on the nations, and the hails and fire and brimstone that accompanies
His judgments, it is presumed that no flesh will left on the earth.
Every mountain and hill will be brought low, and the sea will be
completely filled with debris. The Lord will rain fire and brimstone on
the end time evil kingdom of Satan, which has a name written on her
forehead, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND
ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
